Persistence

Interesting week this week, and the last few.  Trying to heal, fighting, refusing to give in - to find relief from a problem that's been unyielding.  Persistence seems to be a word these days.  And patience.  And perseverance.

The last few weeks - death of an icon and watching her funeral on tv, realizing that all that was left of her, an empty shell, a box filled yet empty.  Yes, I think she died awhile ago, lost her soul to all the demons of drugs and misbehavior.  Amazing brilliant star and talent with potential as great as the moon and lost, lost, lost.  The thoughts of perseverance, of withstanding the times and difficulties, finding a way to get through.  Finding faith that somewhere somehow there is a point to what is happening and we will come through.

Birthing a new life, even our own, requires everything you have and then more.

A caterpillar on the verge believing it about to die, turned into a butterfly

“Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark,
in the hopeless swamps of the approximate,
the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all.
Do not let the hero in your soul perish,
in lonely frustration for the life you deserved,
but have never been able to reach.
Check your road and the nature of your battle.
The world you desired can be won.
It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours.” -Ayn Rand
